About

What we do

The environment often lies at the heart of resource-based conflicts, including disputes over water, land, and natural resources. These conflicts can severely impact human security, deepen poverty and inequality, and hinder long-term development and regional stability.

FPE-I addresses these challenges through an integrated approach combining green economy, green governance, and environmental initiatives. This method, known as environmental peacebuilding security, tackles the complex and interconnected drivers of environmental conflict in a holistic manner.

Rather than implementing isolated interventions, our integrated package approach creates synergies between various activities and stakeholders. This not only enhances the collective impact of our efforts but also supports more sustainable peacebuilding outcomes.

FPE-I ensures that all environmental peacebuilding activities are inclusive and participatory. We involve local communities especially those directly affected by environmental and conflict-related challenges in the design, planning, and implementation of our programs.

By empowering communities and engaging a broad range of stakeholders, FPE-I aims to build resilience and foster a lasting culture of peace, security, and environmental responsibility. Our work promotes practical solutions to climate change and related threats, supporting stability and sustainable development in conflict-affected areas.
